On Saturday, May 24th, 2014 a party took place in Habib Thameur School, Bizerta. The event was organized by a group of 68 secondary brilliant graders and conducted by English Senior teachers Henda Khemiri and Imed Bahri to celebrate The English Language Day ‘English 4 All’.
It was an opportunity for those students to reveal some of their hidden talents and express their love to English language on their own special way.
Out of the belief that our children have amazing talents and skills that should be cared of and improved, we tried to establish new traditions in our school concerning learning English in a communicative way and provide a space for practicing English. It’s a way to enhance a certain link between what our students learn in classrooms and what they can apply in their environment, thus the show came to give special importance to Angela Schwindt’s quote: “while we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about”.
The party was attended by pupils, parents, teachers and many other guests, who came to witness what our students have learnt in English during this school year and share the joy of seeing our children growing.

It was a call to believe in our pupils’ abilities and talents, give them wings to fly higher and let them learn about life beyond classrooms. We think that this will help them make their success..

The opening ceremony started at 4.30pm with welcoming and greeting the guests as well as the participants. Then, Hajer sang Days Are Numbered, before paving the way to young dancers, who performed the opening dance, entitled Jailhouse Rock followed by a Rap song, Never Give Up; lyrics written by Youssef, who brilliantly sang it.
Dorra and Najd played a sketch, as a special dedication to BAC graders, who would sit for their BAC Exam, this year.
The sketch ironically interpreted the way some pushy parents and teachers treat their children and pupils, which might turn this exam into a horrible monster.
It was an occasion, also to wish them the best of luck and a brilliant success after hard work and efforts done during the school year.

DorThen came time for singing, with And She Will Be Loved by Souha, followed by mix of songs: Hotel California and Deamons by Siwar and Amal.
Reggae Music was also present with Gassen’s mix: Redemption Song, Get Up Stand Up and War.
Pupils’ talents were more than singing, acting and dancing. Malek read with a sweet voice her own written poem, which was a dedication to Palestine.
Back to music, again young singers, Malek and Ines sang Pokemon and Crazy. Later, our lovely duo Hajer and Hamza, sang Done for You and Nobody Is Hero.
The honorable guests were not just spectators. Apart from giving our young singers and musicians big rounds of applause, showing appreciations and praise, they were given a chance to participate in the show by answering some funny riddles, prepared and animated by Miras.
After another song Let Her Go, presented by Ghofrane, an amazing part of the show was performed. It was time for Daring, in which the attendees discovered a new art, Beat Box, by Sabri, Med Amine and Mouhanad. Because talent knows no boundaries, it was suggested to give a chance to some talents we might not be used to. It was, then a great surprise to have fun with such an amazing performance.
Dancing was there again, with Break Dance by Med Habib, who later sang a Rap Song, called Let’s Pray.
Another new art was introduced that day; a beautiful Graffiti’s prepared by Aymen, Hamza and Zied embodying peace and tolerance.
Time for Surprise was to celebrate Mother’s Day. A poem dedicated to mum was read by Siwar, a role play, Mother and Daughter was acted by Nada and Montaha and Simple Man was sung by Ghofrane. On this occasion, some of the participants gave their mothers presents, kisses and hugs expressing infinite gratitude to them.
Another group of pupils from the drawing Club of the school supervised by Teacher Nadia Bahri contributed to the event with some of their beautiful paintings, which gave a beautiful artistic atmosphere to the place. They, also distributed lovely self-created Mother’s Day cards to all mothers attending the party. Their fresh, natural smell of roses and flowers was typically pleasant.

Still on this occasion, the participants gave Teacher Henda Khemiri a lovely huge bunch of flowers and a painting representing a portrait of her, painted by a gentle pupil. Though it was Mother’s Day, teacher Imed Bahri received another large bouquet of flowers. It was a lovely and touching moment, in which good and strong relationship between teachers and pupils was expressed. Again, there was an escape from the narrow classroom environment to a wider and more communicative atmosphere, in which teachers and learners discover and understand life together.
After celebrating Mother’s Day, Emna presented her one-woman show: Generation!!!Generation! followed by some interpretations from Nourhene, Ayoub and Hadhemi and dealt with old age and youth. Being old doesn’t mean the end. It is experience, knowledge, maturity and wisdom, while youth is hope, optimism and happiness. They concluded that age is mainly a question of mind and not the body.
Later, a poem: I’m Good Enough, written by Hamza was read. Then Teacher Henda Khemiri read another poem dedicated to students.

Because ending always comes at last, it was time to say “good bye”. The participants did it their way with a wonderful musical: The More We Get Together. It was a call to spread a message that tolerance and acceptance are the surest path to security. At the end of the musical Souha sang Imagine in a beautiful scene representing all humanity.

In the closing ceremony, all the participants were involved in singing Seasons of Love and Happy.
Surprises in that afternoon had no end. An act of kindness, love and respect was given by the participants to the supervisors of the event. They all danced around them and sang Seasons of Love and Happy in a blissful atmosphere full of joy and hope.
